About Serge Strosberg

(Belgian born American citizen, lives and paints in SoHo, New York City since 2008)

Serge Strosberg studied Graphic Design and Illustration in Paris at Academie Julian (attended by Fernand Leger and Bonnard) and Morphology at Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts. In 2010, Strosberg was commissioned by The Shanghai Himalayas Art Museum to paint a series of chinese countrymen to be exhibited near Shanghai. He was the recipient of the Jan Cockx award given by The Director of Mukha (the Museum of Contemporary Art of Antwerp) and has exhibited with Lucian Freud and Philip Pearlstein in group shows at The Felix Nussbaum Museum (Germany) and at The Musee de Pontoise (Paris) which have both acquired some of his works.The artist has had more than 50 personal and group exhibitions including The French Senate (France), The Jewish Museum of Belgium, The Joodse Historisch Museum (Amsterdam), The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens and the Lighthouse Center for the Arts in Palm Beach. Portrait commissions include the family of Jacqueline Dupre, a federal judge Dan Hurley, Palm Beach), a headmaster (Douglas Hale, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania) and an executive chef celebrity (Marcus Samuelsson (red rooster restaurant, New York). Gallery shows include Espace Rothschild (Paris), DFN Gallery (NY), Elaine Baker Gallery (Boca Raton), Paul Fisher gallery (Palm Beach, Fl), The Lionheart gallery (Pound Ridge, NY), Alexandre Gertsman (New York), Studio 26 Gallery (New York), Vohn and Art Amalgamated (NY). Art fairs include : Context, Art Palm Beach, Art Wynwood, LA art show, Art Miami, etc… Serge Strosberg is currently working on a series of portraits of the art world for a one man show/restrospective at the Coral Springs Museum (Fort Lauderdale area). Strosberg’s work has been acquired by several museums and 120 private and corporate collections across Europe and the US.
